Healing begins with understanding your story of pain and strength.
Understanding Trauma: Healing the Imprints on Body, Mind, and Brain
Trauma is something that happens inside us, due to what happened to us. In experiences where our sense of safety, wellbeing, and coping mechanisms are overwhelmed, traces may be left on our mind, brain, and body.
Whilst clients often book to meet with me about their sense of overwhelm, I have learnt that at the heart of their suffering is a pain not yet acknowledged. In reality, the parts they may be struggling with, such as angry outbursts, constant crying, sleepless nights, heightened anxiety, general overwhelm, and others, are the parts that have been fiercely protecting them from feeling their deepest pain for years.
Through therapy, you can create a safe space to gently explore the parts of you that need healing, allowing you to return to your true Self. You can return to feeling joy and safety and having fulfilling relationships.
I understand the courage it takes to be vulnerable and share your story. I offer a free phone consultation to ensure you feel safe in the therapeutic relationship before making an appointment.
Please book a phone consultation so I can create the time and space to focus on you.
Living in a difficult body
Whether it is a new diagnosis or a long-standing condition, living in a difficult body can leave you feeling isolated, anxious, depressed, and struggling with your identity and self-worth.
In the chasm between the life you dreamed of and the life you live, resides grief. Grief often lives alongside shame and guilt, creating an unbearably heavy burden. Living in a difficult body may strain relationships, burden finances, and touch every facet of your existence.
I believe that trauma is intertwined with the experiences of being ill or in pain and traces are left on the minds, emotions, and bodies of not only the people directly experiencing the condition but those around them.
